Terms of service

These terms apply when you use a booking page powered by HiO Booking or visit hiobooking.com. HiO Booking is run by HiO Booking Inc. (“HiO”, “we”), of Ontario, Canada. Businesses that run their venue on HiO sign a separate customer agreement with us.

HiO and the venue

HiO provides the booking software. The venue you book with provides the space, the equipment and the service, sets its prices, rules and cancellation and refund policies, and is responsible for them. Questions about a booking, a charge or the venue itself go to the venue first.

Your account

You log in with your mobile number and a code we text you. Keep your phone secure and tell the venue if your number changes. You're responsible for bookings made from your account.

Text messages

When you tick the box on a venue's login screen, HiO Booking texts your mobile number for that venue: login codes, and messages about your bookings and account (confirmations, reminders, changes, receipts and membership notices). Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop texts; after STOP we send one text confirming it, and you can reply START to turn texts back on. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Bookings, payments and refunds

• A booking is confirmed when the checkout says so. Prices include the taxes shown at checkout.
• Card payments are processed by Square under Square's terms. Saving a card lets the venue charge it for later bookings you make and, if the venue's policy says so, for fees you agreed to.
• Cancelling a booking and refunding a payment are separate: the venue's policy decides what, if anything, is refunded.
• Memberships renew until you cancel, as described at signup; the consent you give is recorded.
• Credits, packages and prepaid cards are used as described when you buy them; purchased value on prepaid cards doesn't expire.

Waivers and agreements

A venue may ask you and your players to agree to its waiver or terms before playing. What you agree to, and when, is recorded as described in our privacy policy. If you book for a group, you confirm that you may do so for them.

Door access

The Unlock button in your booking, and any door access you share with your group, works only around your booking's time. Share it only with your group, and follow the venue's house rules.

Using HiO fairly

Don't misuse the service: no automated booking, no attempts to access other people's information or other venues' accounts, no interference with the service, and nothing unlawful.

Our content

HiO's software, name and logo belong to us. Venues' names, logos and content belong to them.

Availability and liability

We work to keep HiO available and correct but can't promise it will never be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, HiO is not liable for the venue's services or for indirect losses; nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Changes, law and contact
